Fifty years of successful activities in international markets allowed Casalgrande Padana and its research centre to benefit from huge know-how and skills that led to the development of a range of innovative products and avant-garde technical solutions.

Bios belongs to the latest generation of ceramic elements that may be defined as the most advanced and innovative solution. It is based on the use of mineral particles generating an extremely effective antibacterial reaction, since it can lead to a 99.9% reduction of the four main bacterial strains. Bios is a line of fully glazed solid porcelain stoneware tiles developed according to a research project conducted by Casalgrande Padana in collaboration with the Department of Bio-Medical Sciences, microbiology section, of the University of Modena and Reggio Emilia.

All products of the Bios line by Casalgrande Padana have specific (antibacterial) properties liable to obtain a significant score relating to the ID 1.1-1.4 “innovation in design” credit envisaged by the LEED certification.
