OLD HOUSE

Located inside the Casalgrande Padana production site, the Old House is the result of an interesting requalification project by Kengo Kuma, characterized by the usual sensitiveness of his approach to traditional themes. The pre-existing building, a typical farmhouse in the countryside near Reggio Emilia which has survived the deep industrial evolution of the surrounding territory, has been fully restored and recovered to become the historical and documentary archive of Casalgrande Padana. The building and the surrounding garden are also suitable for hosting exhibitions, meetings and cultural events and have established a harmonious relationship to the nearby Casalgrande Ceramic Cloud, the spectacular landmark designed by Kuma himself and inaugurated a year ago. Thanks to this new work by the Japanese architect, Casalgrande Padana wishes to confirm its close relationship to the world of design.
