We’ll talk about sustainable production and social responsibility for health and safety at work. We’ll look into the latest additions to our range of products with the Marmosmart marble-effect tiles, and introduce the next edition of Casalgrande Padana’s Grand Prix architecture contest.
Conscious architecture with an eye on the environment
Compliance with increasingly higher quality standards has resulted in continuous research applied to every stage of the production process, from selecting and storing raw materials to grinding the mixture and firing the tiles; from monitoring the production cycle to the strict quality control of the outgoing product. Casalgrande Padana’s entire production process focuses on quality to ensure a product with outstanding technical and aesthetic features. That’s why it uses state-of-the-art technologies that allow it to meet the most stringent environmental standards. Cutting-edge anti-pollution equipment allows for recycling and reusing all production components.
Self-produced energy and optimised resources
Casalgrande Padana has created an EDP (Environmental Product Declaration), an independently verified and registered document that communicates transparent and comparable information about the life-cycle environmental impact of products in compliance with ISO 14025.
Porcelain stoneware is an environmentally friendly material
Choosing Casalgrande Padana’s porcelain stoneware in modern architecture means emphasising the quality of this noble, natural, high-performance material. Ceramic is non-allergic and odourless because it doesn’t retain dirt and bacteria, and it’s easy to clean. It withstands any chemical or mechanical stress, it’s long-lasting, doesn’t burn, and doesn’t release harmful substances. Its wide range of surfaces, sizes, and thicknesses makes this material beautiful, safe, and suitable for any use. Moreover, it’s fully recyclable, doesn’t contain plastic, and is made with production processes that help protect both the environment and human health.
Continuous research: certified bioactive and eco-compatible ceramic tiles
Casalgrande Padana’s know-how and production philosophy have allowed it to explore new possibilities in bioactive ceramics and experiment with next-generation technologies in partnership with major international players. It’s no coincidence that Casalgrande Padana is always promoting research projects in collaboration with external research centres and various Italian universities. This continuous commitment to research has led to the development of Bios Ceramics, an exclusive and the most advanced generation of bioactive ceramic tiles for architectural applications. These tiles stand out for the certified and eco-compatible Bios Antibacterial® and Bios Self-Cleaning® treatments, which provide them with antibacterial, self-cleaning, and pollutant-reducing properties.
Marmosmart: Casalgrande Padana’s smart porcelain stoneware tiles
Casalgrande Padana’s porcelain stoneware is as precious, long-lasting, and beautiful as marble, which the ancient Greeks called “shining stone”. Casalgrande Padana’s new collection – Marmosmart – gives a new twist to the typical veining, shine, and colours of marble, making every tile truly unique. The Marmosmart collection expands Casalgrande Padana’s range of marble-effect ceramic surfaces recreating the finest marble in nature characterised by deep veining, harmonious shade contrasts, and bright colours bathed in light. The perfect solution for new floor and wall compositions.
The range includes 9 textures (Adria, Fossena, Lasa, Marquinia, Pietrasanta, Statuarietto, Tivoli, Tortora, and Vagli) and 3 finishes that complement each other (polished, honed, and natural), which stand out for their shiny and bright appearance or natural tactile sensation. The high-resistance Natural R10 version, in particular, is ideal for floors requiring superior anti-slip properties.
The tiles in this range are available in six sizes: 29.5x59 cm, 59x59 cm, 59x118 cm (9 mm thick), 45x90 cm, 90x90 cm, plus the new larger version: 90x270 cm (6 mm thick). The richness and variety of the veining enhance any setting with harmonious shades, making classic and contemporary style meet.
The new 90x270 cm tiles are perfect for covering entire walls without the need for cutting them. Moreover, these tiles have thinner grout lines, which help create a seamless look. Floors with these tiles stand out for their visual impact and textural effects, adding a touch of elegance and sophistication in every domestic space. The 30x30 cm mosaic tiles with 5x10 cm and 2.3x2.3 cm pieces complete the range. These tiles are available in every colour in the collection with the honed or polished finish.
