The Gendai Wood wood-effect collection is the result of research and experimentation, an advanced production process, and a fine selection of raw materials. The collection draws inspiration from Yakisugi or Shou Sugi Ban (焼杉板), which means “charred cedar board” in Japanese. The Shou Sugi Ban technique was developed in 14th-century Japan when Sugi (cedar wood) was cut into thin boards, charred, and sealed with oil.

The new Gendai Wood collection comes in five colours (Gendai Black, Brown, Green, Grey, and White), one practical size (20x120 cm with a 9 mm thickness), polished and an anti-slip Grip finish. In addition, the tiles’ surface is waxed as a reminiscence of the original ShouSugi Ban technique that covered the charred boards with natural oil.

Gendai Wood tiles have an appealing modern look and the durability and wear-resistance of porcelain stoneware. That’s why they are ideal for floors and walls, interiors and exteriors, residential, public, and restored buildings, and even the contract furnishing, retail, and hospitality sectors.

The imperfect veining of these wood-like porcelain stoneware tiles replicates the original material that inspired them, making them perfect for country, Nordic, or Wabi-Sabi style settings. The Shou Sugi Ban technique, which has inspired the Gendai Wood collection, is deeply rooted in Japanese culture and ties in with the Wabi-Sabi philosophy.

Wabi-Sabi is based on transience and simplicity. It celebrates the way things change with time. It invites us to go beyond appearance, detach from the idea of perfection, and seek beauty and uniqueness in authenticity and imperfection.

The Gendai Wood large-format tiles are incredibly versatile and ideal for diagonal or straight installation. Laid diagonally at a 45-degree angle to the walls or parallel to the shorter or longer side, depending on the room’s size and depth, they can enhance the flooring’s veining and create stunning contemporary and timeless spaces.

Moreover, like all Casalgrande Padana porcelain stoneware tiles, they are environmentally sustainable, hypoallergenic, fire-resistant, easy to lay and clean, hard-wearing, non-absorbent, and feature excellent flexural strength. Whatever the latitude, these wood-effect tiles don’t fear temperature fluctuations and never warp. Their exceptional mechanical strength maintains all their features unchanged over time. But that’s not all. The Bios Antibacterial® treatment (available upon request) is always active, day and night. This treatment helps remove 99% of the four main bacterial strains (Staphylococcus aureus, Enterococcus faecalis, Escherichia coli, Pseudomonas aeruginosa) from the tiles. Bios Antibacterial® uses a silver ion technology that removes bacteria and prevents their proliferation by inhibiting their metabolism.

The charming time-worn effect of the Gendai Wood collection takes you on a journey where nothing is finished, nothing lasts, and nothing is perfect. And the acceptance of the passing of time is expressed in the will to embrace imperfection. As a result, this collection provides unique, sophisticated tactile and textural sensations, while the wood-effect veining softened by the passing of time adds a sense of tranquillity and simplicity. All this helps create spaces full of character, where small imperfections become precious highlights.

Slavonia wood-effect tiles by Casalgrande Padana for spaces full of charm

Casalgrande Padana’s research and experimentation with the world’s finest types of wood have led to the creation of Slavonia, the wood-effect collection perfect for creating cosy and elegant spaces full of oak’s natural charm.

The new Slavonia collection comes in six shades (Slavonia Beige, Miele, Noce, Panna, Terra, and Tortora) and two sizes (20x120 and 40x120 cm), thicknesses (9 and 20 mm), and finishes (natural and Grip). The delicate oak-effect veining emphasised by the large-format tiles and the anti-slip Grip finish (available in both sizes and thicknesses) makes them perfect for outdoor use. Laid on screed, they make stunning patios, terraces, verandas, and poolsides; applied directly to sand, gravel or turf, they create walkways you can walk on right away.

Slavonia wood-like tiles combine the beauty of wood and the technical features of porcelain stoneware. As a result, they’re hypoallergenic, antibacterial (thanks to the Bios Antibacterial® technology), frost-resistant, and fire-resistant (they don’t release harmful substances in the event of a fire). In addition, they’re non-absorbent, wear-resistant, easy to lay and clean. They have excellent flexural strength and don’t fear temperature fluctuations. All these features allow them to remain unchanged over time. Bios Antibacterial® is a special silver-based treatment (available upon request) that makes your spaces a haven of health and wellbeing. In fact, it helps remove 99% of the main bacterial strains (Staphylococcus aureus, Enterococcus faecalis, Escherichia coli, Pseudomonas aeruginosa) from the tiles’ surface and prevent mould, yeasts, and fungi responsible for bad smell.

Moreover, Slavonia wood-effect floor and wall tiles are incredibly versatile and functional. They’re the perfect solution for new and restored commercial and public buildings and for personalising any room of your home, creating striking uninterrupted surfaces, from the living area to the kitchen and from the bedrooms to the bathroom, extending to the exteriors.

Warm earthy shades inspired by oak’s natural beauty create eye-pleasing colour variations that go perfectly with Casalgrande Padana’s other concrete-effect, marble-effect, metal-effect, stone-effect, and coloured collections, making Slavonia suitable for any style. For example, the lighter shades (Beige, Miele, and Panna) are perfect for Nordic-style or boho settings, while the darker ones (Noce, Terra, and Tortora) are better for classic, more traditional settings.

The delicate veining and time-worn effect of these wood-like porcelain stoneware tiles are the perfect expressions of warmth and cosiness in harmony with nature. So what do country houses, romantic chalets and cottages in jaw-dropping alpine landscapes, and Mediterranean-style houses surrounded by citrus groves overlooking the sea have in common? They all tell the stories of distant memories, between ancient traditions and the unmistakable scent of wood.

And the Slavonia oak-effect collection gives an elegant and refined edge to cosy, essential spaces full of charm.

All the charm of stone-effect porcelain stoneware tiles: introducing Stile by Casalgrande Padana

The charm and beauty of natural stone have inspired Stile, Casalgrande Padana’s new porcelain stoneware tile collection that stands out for its sophisticated aesthetics, rich colour palette, and variety of sizes and finishes.

Stile comes in six colours (Stile Beige, Black, French Grey, Pale, Pearl, and White Smoke), seven sizes (10x30, 30x60, 60x60, 60x120, 120x120, 45x90, and 90x90 cm), and two thicknesses (9 and 20 mm).

Our new stone-effect tile collection is available with different finishes (Anticata, Bocciardata, Diagonale, Natural Grip Rigata, and Silk), perfect for creating uninterrupted surfaces between interiors and exteriors. The outdoor versions (60x60 and 90x90 cm, 20 mm thick) can be laid on screed, ensuring excellent load resistance, or dry-laid on sand, gravel, or turf to create walkways you can walk on right away. Moreover, the combination of three sizes (30x60, 60x90, and 60x120 cm) in the same box allows you to create striking geometric compositions that emphasise the beauty of these tiles. The 30x30 cm mosaic tiles (with 5x5 or 5x15 cm pieces) complete the collection.

Stile tiles are rectified and perfectly mimic fine stone surfaces. Their different sizes and finishes allow for many laying patterns and solutions for highly personalised spaces. These compact and incredibly wear-resistant stone-like tiles are the result of cutting-edge technology, making them suitable for any climate and any project, including new and restored commercial and public buildings. Like all Casalgrande Padana porcelain stoneware collections, Stile tiles are made solely with natural materials, without any plastic or harmful substances. So, they’re environmentally sustainable, fully recyclable, fire-resistant, hypoallergenic, and frost-resistant. Plus, they remain unchanged over time.

Casalgrande Padana’s Stile collection is perfect for any surface in your home, even in the event of underfloor heating. That’s because porcelain stoneware features high transmittance and thermal conductivity, making it one of the best choices for this type of heating. But there’s more. The Bios Antibacterial® technology (available upon request) helps remove 99% of the main bacterial strains from the tiles’ surface. Combined with underfloor heating, this technology allows everyone to enjoy walking barefoot at home and children to play on the floor even in winter.

The Stile collection emphasises the beauty of any room and fits into any style: metropolitan, urban chic, Nordic, cosy, boho, shabby chic, modern, minimalist, you name it.

These tiles are also perfect for façades, thanks to the innovative adhesive, ventilated, and insulated cladding systems. In fact, Casalgrande Padana porcelain stoneware ensures excellent thermal and acoustic insulation and even improve the building’s hygrometric performance. In addition, thanks to the Bios Self Cleaning®  technology (available upon request), these tiles also help reduce maintenance time and costs while improving air quality. Stile is an elegant and versatile porcelain stoneware tile collection that combines sophisticated beauty, excellent technical features, and a vast array of finishes. Its nuances mimic the natural material that inspired it, adding a strong character to any setting. Harmonious shade contrasts conceal the indelible traces of a mysterious past and intertwine with time, adding strength and charm.

Introducing Le Ville, Casalgrande Padana’s most elegant terrazzo-effect porcelain stoneware tiles

“Those terrazzo floors are excellent. They are made with crushed potsherds and fine gravel, lime and river pebbles, all well beaten into position. And they must be made in spring or summer so that they can dry well.”

Andrea Palladio

Casalgrande Padana’s Le Ville collection gives a modern twist to Venetian terrazzo tiles, among the most renowned and popular Italian creations throughout the centuries. This new porcelain stoneware tile collection is available with six patterns in different colours, which allow for endless combinations, five sizes (20x20, 30x60, 60x60, 60x120, and 120x120 cm), two thicknesses (9 and 20 mm), and two finishes (natural and Grip).

Le Ville is a versatile collection that fits into any space, from floors to walls, both inside and out. The tiles with the anti-slip Grip finish for exteriors (20 mm thick) help create harmonious uninterrupted surfaces that seem to continue from the interiors. Laid on screed, they make stunning patios, terraces, verandas, and balconies. Applied directly to turf, gravel or sand, they’re perfect for walkways that can be walked on right away.

Le Ville is the perfect collection for large surfaces, such as hotel, restaurant, and shop floors, but it also adds style and character to any room in your home. Le Ville terrazzo-effect tiles are rectified and perfectly flat, making them, together with the large 120x120 cm format, ideal for creating elegant and contemporary uninterrupted surfaces with minimal grout lines.

This collection is perfect for modern projects and layouts, even with other Casalgrande Padana tiles, especially the new Atelier collection. In fact, Atelier’s innovative monochrome palette (Brume, Cristallo, Lavanda, Fiordaliso, Indaco, Oltremare, and Rubino) perfectly complements Le Ville’s patterns, creating a sophisticated play of light and shade contrasts that add an elegant touch to any room.

Le Ville tiles are made with fragments of different sizes that result in a harmonious pattern on which light falls, creating beautiful light and dark contrasts and an atmosphere full of timeless charm. The Le Ville collection is a tribute to beauty that allows you to unleash your creativity, combining the ancient and artisanal charm of marble grit flooring and porcelain stoneware’s technical features.

Casalgrande Padana porcelain stoneware is environmentally sustainable, fully recyclable, hypoallergenic, antibacterial (thanks to the Bios Antibacterial® available upon request), fire-resistant, non-absorbent, hard-wearing, and easy to lay and clean. Moreover, it has excellent flexural strength and remains unchanged over time in any climate.

The detail-rich terrazzo-effect tiles from the Le Ville collection are perfect for unique, stylish spaces that exude prestigious charm between tradition and modernity.

And now, the collection features six other colours full of timeless charm: Carrara and Statuario Fine, whose delicate shades and details hint at the material that ignited the creativity of Tuscan masters, Statuario Altissimo and Extra Oro, where the veining on a white background gets bolder, and Deep Dark and Starry Night where sophisticated contrasts enhance the surfaces’ depth.

The Marmoker marble-effect collection features 39 textures, 10 sizes (30x60, 60x60, 60x120, 120x120, 120x240, 120x278, 160x320, 45x90, 90x90, and 90x180 cm), 3 thicknesses (6.5, 10, and 12 mm), and 2 finishes (honed and polished). This way, it unleashes the creative potential of Casalgrande Padana porcelain stoneware to create spaces that make an impact.

What’s more, their colours never fade.

The marble surfaces that have inspired generations, thanks to the greats of art and architecture, come back to life with the Marmoker porcelain stoneware collection, creating timeless spaces that meet the needs of contemporary living.

Onici by Casalgrande Padana: porcelain stoneware tiles with beautiful light reflections

The Onici collection of marble-effect porcelain stoneware tiles gives a new edge to one of the most ancient construction materials through iridescent reflections, sophisticated veining, and colour variations. And now, three new colours – Onice Arancio, Onice Grigio, and Onice Perla – have been added to its existing colour palette (Avorio, Bianco, Ghiaccio, Miele, and Quarzo). The Onici tiles are only 6.5 mm thick and come in three large formats (60x120 cm, 120x120 cm e 120x278 cm) with a natural or polished finish. Each tile is unique and adds elegance and charm to any setting.

Beige, grey, and pearl white areas are interrupted by bold veining, Nuvolato effects, and harmonious nuances that sometimes “chase” each other and sometimes overlap, letting the underlying shades shine through and forming a translucent material.

Onici tiles are made of high-performance porcelain stoneware. These tiles add a glamorous and luxurious feel to any setting and can adapt to any style from classic to contemporary. They are perfect for residential, public, and commercial buildings and the wellness, hospitality, and contract furnishing sectors.

Casalgrande Padana’s Onici collection is sturdy and versatile. It’s the perfect choice for floors and walls, countertops, backsplashes, partition walls, and furnishings. In addition, its large formats and reduced thickness allow for minimal grout lines perfect for creating striking uninterrupted surfaces.

The excellent technical features of Casalgrande Padana porcelain stoneware blend with the beautiful play of light, veining, and colour variations to ensure versatility with a touch of magic.

The evolution of Casalgrande Padana’s porcelain stoneware tiles for public and commercial spaces

Casalgrande Padana’s research and experimentation, cutting-edge production process, and technical expertise acquired in its 60 years in the business have led to the creation of TerrazzoTech, the new collection for public and commercial spaces with outstanding functionality and mechanical properties.

TerrazzoTech tiles are 9,4 or 14 mm thick and are available in three sizes (30x60, 60x60, and 60x120 cm), five colours, and a natural polished or anti-slip Grip finish. The overall pattern is a modern and dynamic jigsaw puzzle created by chips in various shapes and sizes added to the porcelain stoneware mixture. This random repetition of irregular patterns makes each TerrazzoTech tile unique.

TerrazzoTech tiles are waterproof, incredibly wear-resistant, and easy to maintain, making them the ideal choice for the floors and walls of public and commercial spaces particularly subject to stress and wear. They are also perfect for industrial spaces, such as chemical labs requiring chemical and corrosion resistance and the food or pharmaceutical sectors that need to comply with stringent hygiene standards. What’s more, TerrazzoTech porcelain stoneware tiles don’t fear moisture, frost, fire, or abnormal temperature fluctuations, making them ideal for airports, wineries, dairies, shopping centres, workshops, hospitals, schools, showrooms, stations, supermarkets, offices, and more. In addition, the anti-slip Grip finish helps reduce the risk of slipping, making the floors safer.

In addition, the Bios Antibacterial® treatment (available upon request) helps remove 99% of the four main bacterial strains (Staphylococcus aureus, Enterococcus faecalis, Escherichia coli, Pseudomonas aeruginosa) from the tiles’ surface. These features protect the tiles from stains, bacteria, mould, fungi, yeast, solvents, oils, and chemicals in general.

TerrazzoTech is a collection of full-body tiles, which means that the colour runs throughout the tile, ensuring a consistent surface and body structure. So, for example, if you removed the superficial layer, you’d discover an identical surface underneath without affecting the tiles’ aesthetics and functionality.

Like all Casalgrande Padana collections, TerrazzoTech is functional, versatile, and made solely with natural materials, no plastic, silicones or toxic substances. Equally important, these tiles are environmentally sustainable, fully recyclable, hypoallergenic, and heat-resistant, making them suitable for any architectural project and any condition. This way, they give architects the flexibility to redefine the spaces of the future.
